Professor Miles Witham

Miles joined the AGE research group in April 2019, having spent the previous 20 years at the University of Dundee as a research fellow, lecturer, senior lecturer and Reader. His main focus is on the design and execution of clinical trials for older people, particularly people with frailty, multimorbidity or sarcopenia. He studies a wide range of interventions, from exercise and nutrition through to drug interventions, and is passionate about improving opportunities for older people to take part in trials through methodological research. Global health and ageing, and the use of routinely collected clinical data for research are other interests, with the aim of ensuring that research findings are representative of the older people who need healthcare, both in the UK and across the globe.
