New Research Capacity Development Lead - Dr Jonny Bunn
My name is Jonny Bunn, I am an academic geriatrician currently working with the AGE Research Group as a Clinical Research Associate and I have just taken on the role of ‘Research Capacity Development lead’ within the AGE.
I come from a clinical background, having trained in Glasgow and Sheffield before moving to Newcastle in 2020 for my geriatric medicine registrar training-the last step before becoming a consultant! When I moved to Newcastle I was introduced to the AGE Research Group by the late Richard Dodds, and from there my involvement has grown to my current role of Clinical Research Associate. My research interests lie within multiple long-term conditions, and I am about to start a PhD based within this area.
Research Capacity Development focuses on providing support for trainees currently based within the group, but also on trying to provide opportunities for individuals wanting to get involved with ageing research. The AGE team involves researchers from multidisciplinary backgrounds, and we would welcome interest from a variety of people who want to become involved with ageing science. If you are interested and want to find out more please contact me at jonathan.bunn@newcastle.ac.uk.
