AGE Research Group members attend annual Physiotherapy conference in Manchester

AGE Research Group members Professor Miles Witham and Dr Christopher Hurst contributed to a symposium on Exercise interventions for older people living with sarcopenia and frailty at the annual conference of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy in Manchester. The symposium showcased the work of the Benchmarking Exercise Programme for Older People (BEPOP) that is hosted by the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre and run jointly with AGILE (the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists special interest section for working with Older People) and the British Geriatrics Society.

Miles and Chris presented alongside AGILE colleagues Sarah De Biase and Susanne Arnold in a well-attended session dedicated to improving physiotherapy for older people with frailty and sarcopenia. The symposium covered findings and recommendations from BEPOP, a nationwide service improvement project aimed at driving the development and uptake of best practice for exercise interventions for older people living with sarcopenia and frailty in the UK.
