AGE Research Group hosts a visit from Prof Rob Daly, Deakin University

The AGE Research Group were delighted to host a visit from Prof Robin Daly from Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia.

As Chair of Exercise and Ageing at Deakin University, Rob’s research focuses on the effects of exercise and nutrition and the interaction of these two factors in the aetiology of chronic disease.

As well as meeting with members of the AGE Research Group, Rob gave an excellent seminar to the wider NIHR Newcastle BRC and members of the LTC & MM theme. He has led the development and evaluation of large complex interventions, particularly in older populations.  His talk covered innovative approaches that his team have been using to promote exercise and dietary change to support living healthier for longer, as well as the lessons learned from use of new interventions and technology.
