Rosalind Franklin
The rover of the joint ESA - Roscosmos ExoMars 2020 programme has been named Rosalind Franklin after the British born chemist responsible for unraveling the double helix structure of DNA. Rosalind Franklin was integral to the develoipment of our understanding of DNA and was supervising the day the famous "photo 51" was taken; from this photograph crucial size parameters were calculated contibuting to the chemical model of DNA.
Rosalind Franklin (the rover) will continue this quest to unravel the secrets of life in our universe when she lands at Oxia Planum on Mars in 2021.
