Bioresources 2014

The International Bioresources Conference 2014, organised by NEPIC, the North East process Industries Cluster membership organisation, took place on the 19th of June in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Introduction by NEPIC highlighted key trends in the region including:

  • developments in battery technology
  • the pervasiveness of electric vehicles  and charge points following the  2010 Plugged in Places initiative, which has made the Northeast the most connected region in the UK
  • the use of CO2 as a raw material, and
  • syngas applications
