Our recently refurbished Biology laboratory houses a recirculation hood, incubators, and a range of specialized research and teaching microscopes for macrofossil and microfossil analyses (e.g. of sediments, molluscs, invertebrates, pollen, diatoms), including phase contrast, camera and video monitor link facilities.
This laboratory can accommodate small student groups and is equipped with computer projection facilities used during teaching.
An annex to the Biology laboratory houses Geography’s Varian Cary Eclipse UV-vis fluorescence spectrophotometer and freeze-drier, and provides access to one of our two walk in cold stores.
