• The North East Coast Industries Exhibition, Newcastle – upon – Tyne 1929: an interdisciplinary investigation.

In 1929 a major trade exhibition was held in the Exhibition Park, Claremont Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. The Exhibition was open from May until October and was a showcase for the industries of the North East coast. The exhibition was staged in an attempt to boost the local economy during a time of depression. This project will research the aims and aspirations of the 1929 North East Coast Industries Exhibition and assess its ultimate impact upon the North East of England by using historical and archaeological sources.
