  • Health promotion in long-term follow-up for young adult childhood cancer survivors: When, Who, Where and How?

As more children and adolescents with cancer are cured, it has become evident that long-term survivors are susceptible to potentially serious health complications due to their treatment.  It is recommended that health promotion advice should be given to reduce these risks, but more research is required to investigate when, by whom, where and how this is done. This is particularly important in adolescence, a stage of life characterized by self-identity development and risk-taking.  I will conduct semi-structured interviews with cancer survivors (aged >14) to elicit their views about the information they currently receive and evaluate how it could be improved.
