  • Pregnancy Outcome for Membrane Rupture before 24 weeks gestational age

Preterm premature rupture of membranes (PPROM) is defined as the spontaneous rupture of the fetal membranes prior to 37 weeks gestation in the absence of regular, painful contractions. If PPROM occurs before 24 weeks gestation, the condition is associated with adverse perinatal outcomes due to previous literature. The main aim of this research was to assess the contemporary outcomes in PPROM before 24 weeks gestation in order to aid the counselling of these patients in clinical practice. The primary outcome measure was neonatal survival up to one year of age with termination of pregnancy being considered as a separate outcome.
