  • Characterising the BioModels database

The BioModels database is a freely available repository of scientific, peer-reviewed, published, computational models. These mathematical models cover all biological topics, from cancer to ageing. This unique resource gives biologists unprecedented access to mathematical models. Biologists, for the first time, can easily store, search and access published models. The database also provides computational modellers with a platform on which to test new algorithms and tools. However, at present no overview of the entire database is available. This project aims to summarise the BioModels database and provide a framework that will allow computational modellers to build upon. By summarising the BioModels database, new algorithms can better target particular model types and allow more biological realistic models to be created.
