Getting to Newcastle

Research Beehive

The conference is being held in the Research Beehive at Newcastle University. This is located in the Old Library Building (map reference 25 and 26). As you go through the main doors, turn left and head up the stairs. You will then be

in the main foyer. The conference is being held straight ahead on the left.

Arriving in Newcastle

Arriving at Newcastle International Airport – you will need to take the Newcastle Underground (Called Metro). Tickets can be bought from the gate, just follow the Metro signs.

If you are staying at one of the recommended hotels (or most others in the area), stop at Central Station. For arriving at Newcastle University, stop at Haymarket

Most hotels near the Central station are a 15-18-minute walk to Newcastle University, going through the city centre. However, you can also take the Metro from Central Station to Haymarket if you wish.

 

Arriving at Edinburgh

Either take a tram (£5.50) http://www.edinburghairport.com/transport-links/trams or the Airlink 100 (£4.50) http://www.edinburghairport.com/transport-links/buses-and-coaches to Haymarket or Waverly, depending on the train tickets purchased. Check the following links for train tickets to Newcastle.

Arriving in London

Arriving in Heathrow airport: Take the London Tube towards Victoria Station or Kings Cross Station  for the National Rail Service, you can plan you Tube Journey here: https://tfl.gov.uk/

Arriving at other London Airports: You will need to take a Coach such as National Express; tickets can be bought in advance from here: http://www.nationalexpress.com/home.aspx

Ticket prices will vary depending on when you plan to leave from London / Edinburgh, so take that into consideration.
