Wolfgang Weileder

Wolfgang Weileder is Professor of Contemporary Sculpture at Newcastle University and the convenor of the Connecting Principle Research Forum.

Located in the central urban environment Wolfgang Weileder’s recent work explores the relationship between time and space, the interface between reality and virtuality and aims to question and re-define the interconnection between architecture and art in public space.

Recent shows and projects include: house-city, ARENA, Samling Foundation and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead (2003); house-madrid, Madrid Abierto, house-birmingham, IKON Gallery, Birmingham (2004); You shall know our velocity, BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, Gateshead; Transfer, Milton Keynes Gallery (2007); Transfer-back Milton Keynes Gallery (2006). The film of house-birmingham was screened at the following festivals: Interfilm 2005, Berlin, Impakt Festival 2005, Utrecht, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin 2005, Paris, Tampere International Film Festival 2006, Tampere, Finland, Athens Video Art Festival 2006, Greece, PULSAR Caracas 2006, Venezuela.
