Connecting Principle was established by Visiting Fellow Monica Ross in October 2002 bringing together time based works by artists and musicians.

Our first event was held in the Fine Art building within the School of Arts and Cultures in October 2002, and featured a range of new projects that have subsequently led to new research initiatives.

In 2006 Prof. Wolfgang Weileder re-established Connecting Principal as a multi-disciplinary research forum instigating a dialogue between art and other disciplines, as well as an international network of artists, theorists and researchers.

Our event 2007 Process was developed in partnership with independent curator Ele Carpenter and presented more than 20 process-based activities including participatory conversations, durational sound - art collaborations, talks, performances, installations, workshops, The Mobile Cinema, a Video Lounge and cafe.

Our event 2008 Dialogue was developed together with and co-organized by artist Isabella Streffen. The event took place in November 2008 and included participatory conversations, durational sound - art collaborations, talks, performances, installations and a Video Lounge.
