Paul obtained a first-class honours degree in Popular and Contemporary Music at Newcastle University in 2004, and completed an MMus with distinction the following year. He is a computer-based studio composer, Hip-hop DJ and free improviser. Paul is currently an AHRC funded Ph.D candidate undertaking practice led research into the use of recorded material in spontaneous music making, an attempt to make fixed musics live again. His project aims to negotiate around this apparent antithesis.
