Fiona Wright

Fiona Wright is an Independent Artist (b. London 1966) - based in Newcastle upon Tyne. She has been making performances since the late 1980s and works freelance also as a lecturer, writer, mentor and dramaturg  with other artists. She is currently working with choreographer Simone Aughterlony’s company in Zurich and she was Visiting Artist in Performance at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2007. Recent work includes several short and close-up pieces made for an audience of one at a time  (including softly, stolen / dream crawl, seen at Connecting Principle in 2002) and a series of solo performance lectures, titled "Other versions of an uncertain body". Her current solo On Lying is now touring and she also works collaboratively, particularly with Caroline Bowditch as girl jonah, most recently seen at Dublin Dance Festival with the new duet “She was a knife thrower’s assistant...” www.girljonah.org
