Ele Carpenter is an independent curator and researcher, currently completing her PhD with CRUMB at the University of Sunderland in politicised socially engaged and new media arts practice.

Recent exhibitions include: Electrical Activity, Star and Shadow Cinema for the Glow NGi Winter Festival, 2006; and RISK: Creative Action in Political Culture, CCA Glasgow, 2005.

Ele is Director of the Mobile Cinema caravan screening artists films, and a member of the Star and Shadow Cinema Collective. Previously Ele was curator at NGCA, Sunderland 1997-2002.

Ele has provided Curatorial Support for Connecting Principle: Process, and will be running an Open Source Embroidery Workshop as part of the event.
