The ALTAR study is a Phase IV multicentre, pragmatic patient‐randomised non‐inferiority trial comparing two drugs for the prevention of recurrent urinary tract infection in women both during a 12‐month period of use and in the subsequent 6‐months following completion of the prophylactic medication.
We are planning to recruit 240 adult females with recurrent uncomplicated urinary tract infection. The recruitment period will run from May 2016 to October 2017 in 7 sites across England and Scotlancd
This website will continue to be the central communication hub for all aspects of the trial. Feel free to browse the site. We will continue to add more information as the study progresses. Please contact us if you have any queries, and follow us on twitter @ALTAR Trial for further progress updates.
