22nd October 2016, Peter Hopkins presented a keynote at the National Black Crown Prosecution Association annual conference, London. The conference was called 'Stop Islamophobia: tackling discrimination and defending the equality and human rights of Muslims' and was run in collaboration with the CPS Muslim staff network.

31st Aug-2nd September, Peter Hopkins presented a paper about young people, racism and diversity at the Royal Geographical Society with the Institute of British Geographers Annual Conference, London.

14th-16th July 2016, Peter Hopkins presented a paper about intersectionality and locality and participated in a panel session about intersectionality at the International Conference on Feminist Geographies and Intersectionality: Places, Identities and Knowledges, Barcelona.

25th April 2016, Kate Botterill, Peter Hopkins and Gurchathen Sanghera presented the study findings at a dissemination event at the Lighthouse, Glasgow.

29th March-2nd April 2016, Peter Hopkins presented a paper about ethnic and religious minority young people's experiences of misrecognition at the Association of American Geographers Annual Conference, San Francisco. At this conference, Peter also participated in a panel discussion focused on current debates about geographies of the body. Peter was also a discussant for two separate sessions, one about the intersections between masculinities and ethnicities and the second about gender and generational relations.

15th March 2016, Rowena Arshad presented key themes and lessons learnt from the project at an ESRC mini sermins series on 'Teacher Education for the Changing Demographics of Schooling: policy, practice and research', University of Edinburgh.

9th March 2016, Peter Hopkins presented the study findings to the Cross Party Group on Racial Equality in Scotland at the Scottish Parliament, Edinburgh.

5th-6th November 2015, Peter Hopkins presented a keynote about 'Misrecognition, racism and interethnic relations for black and minority ethnic young people in urban Scotland' at the Young Divercities-encountering and living with hyper-diversity: young people's urban experiences conference, Utrecht.

4th November 2015, Rowena Arshad led an interactive workshop reporting on key findings from the project at the YouthLink Annual Conference, Cumbernauld. This session enabled youth workers to consider how the findings impact on their work.

19th-20th October 2015, Kate Botterill presented a paper about why youth identity matters at the 'Youth migrant identities in Scotland' conference, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. This was organised by Stirling, Strathclyde and Glasgow Universities. Rowena Arshad was one of the co-organisers.

2nd September 2015, Rowena Arshad pressnted a keynote on the implications of our findings for school educators at the University of Edinburgh School of Education staff and doctoral student bi-annual conference on 'Interweaving: a tapestry of educational and multidisciplinary research in an international context'.

1-4th September 2015, Kate Botterill and Gurchathen Sanghera each presented a paper at the Royal Geographical Society with the Institute of British Geographers Annual Conference, University of Exeter, UK. Kate presented a paper about the ontological security of ethnic and religious minority young people in the context of the Independence Referendum and Gurch presented a paper about the living rights of ethnic minority young people in Scotland. Peter Hopkins also presented a paper about the creation of a youth-centred research protocol at this conference. Kate and Peter organised a paper session on 'Geographies of Islamophobia'.

21-25th April 2015, Kate Botterill presented a paper about ontological security and the Scottish independence referendum at the Association of American Geographers annual conference in Chicago, USA. This was part of a series of sessions about 'shared security futures' that Peter Hopkins co-organised with Kathrin Horschelmann, Catherine Cottrell and Matt Benwell. At the same conference, Peter Hopkins presented a paper about the ways in which non-Muslim black and ethnic minority young people in Scotland are misrecognised as Muslim and experience Islamophobia as a result of this. Peter was also a discussant on a panel session about young people and spaces of (in)security.

19-20th April 2015, Kate Botterill present a paper about intersectional identities, youth and Scottish independence at the 'Gendered Rights to the City: intersections of identity and power' Feminist Geography conference (Pre-AAG IGU Gender & Geography Commission Conference) at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, USA. This was part of a conference session on 'urban intersectionalities' that was organised by Kate Botterill and Peter Hopkins.

Peter and Kate co-organised a session (with Caroline Nagel (Southern Carolina) and Patricia Ehrkamp (Kentucky) about 'critical geographies of religion'. At the same conference, Kate Botterill also presented a paper about Polish migration and constructions of community.

27th-30th August 2013, Kate Botterill and Peter Hopkins organised sessions and presented at the Royal Geographical Society with the Institute of British Geographers Annual Confererence in London. Kate organised and chaired a session on 'Lifestyle migration and the state: new frontiers for population geography' and presented a paper (with Karen O'Reilly, Loughborough) about the promotion and regulation of western migration in Thailand and Malaysia. In addition to this, Kate also co-organised a session about 'Gender, Migration and mobility: new conversations in population and feminist geography'. At the same conference, Peter Hopkins contributed to a keynote panel about gendered violence and co-organised a session about children, young people and critical geopolitics in which he presented a paper about Sikh youth.

16th March 2013, Kate Botterill presented a paper at the IMISCOE workshop on Ageing and Migration. The paper was from a previous project on Lifestyle Migration in East Asia and was entitled 'Discordant Lifestyle Mobilities in East Asia: Privilege and Precarity of British Retirement in Thailand'.
