Dr Emma Cheatle

Emma Cheatle is a Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the University of Sheffield. Her research explores architectural and urban space as understood through issues of health humanities, poetics, ecologies, gender, and equity. Her books include Part-Architecture: The Maison de Verre, Duchamp, Domesticity and Desire in 1930s Paris (Routledge, 2017). In 2016 she instigated the Wastes and Strays project with a strand of the AHRC Common Ground conference at York University called ‘Every One's Right: Retrospectives and Prospects on Urban Common Land’, bringing together various contributors including Alex Zambelli and Rachel Hammersley, and showing her film ‘Finding Town Moor’. As a Co-I she works with Alex Zambelli on the ‘Futures’ dimension of the project.
