Dr Oliver Heidrich

Oliver's research expertise includes sustainable systems, businesses, industrial ecology and operational management; resource and waste management and the modelling of material flows (e.g. decision support); life cycle costing and assessment i.e. economic and environmental burdens on systems; Governmental and business strategies, policies, decision support systems and CSR; Standardised management systems e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 26000 and OHSAS 18001; Business psychology i.e. the human factor on sustainable systems. Dr Heidrich’s current work is development of new approaches in modelling of resource flows, life cycle assessments and  industrial ecology in urban environments as part of the EPSRC funded project "Resource implications of adaptation of infrastructure to global change”. The aim is to provide system-scale understanding of the inter-relationships between resource mapping and resource use in cities by applying Industrial Ecology and Life Cycle Assessment thinking in relation to climate impacts, land use, transport and the built environment.
