USMART demonstrates Nanomodem technology at ERL Emergency 2017
In September 2017 the USMART team demonstrated the underwater positioning capability of the Nanomodem technology at the European Robotics League Emergency 2017 competition in Piombino, Italy. A single Nanomodem was mounted on several of the competitors’ autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and two Nanomodems in reference positions on the dockside where able to accurately track the vehicles during their mission. An example of this is shown on our Facebook page. On the final day of the event, the Nanomodem based tracking system also enabled the location and recovery of a damaged vehicle which was stranded on the seabed.
