Li-Pen is an Assistant Professor in the Computer Aided Engineering Division of the Civil Engineering Department at National Taiwan University (NTU).
Prior to joining NTU, Li-Pen worked as a researcher at Imperial College London (UK) and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium). He was involved in several UK and EU funded research projects focusing on flood risk management. His main research interests include multi-sensor data combination based upon the theories of Bayesian statistics and fractals, and stochastic spatial-temporal rainfall modelling based upon point process theory, advanced image processing techniques and GPU programming.
Li-Pen is a C/C++ and open data enthusiast and enjoys a good statistical challenge. He is a Mandarin Chinese native speaker, is fluent in English and is working on his Spanish.
