UKRI RICHeS Visit to the BSA

On 7th May 2025, the Transforming Access team based at the British School at Athens, together with team members from Newcastle University, hosted a visit from UKRI RICHeS.
Matt Seager, Senior Operations Manager for UKRI RICHeS, met with the entire team in Athens involved with Transforming Access to discuss the ongoing work and aims for future impact from the project.
This was followed by a tour of the BSA Archives and Fitch Laboratory, led by Fitch Director Dr Evangelia Kiriatzi, and by BSA Archivist Amalia Kakissis. This featured collections which will be included in the Transforming Access infrastructure (including geological collections, and the Peter Ucko collection of traditional Greek ceramic production) enabling greater accesss to the unique resources held by the BSA and other BIRI.
The tour was followed by a project meeting with Project Lead Prof. Mark Jackson, BSA Director Prof. Rebecca Sweetman, Project IT Lead Dr Nathan Meyer and Project Manager Dr Maria Duggan.
