Outreach & Engagement
Below is a list of all outreach & engagement activities conducted by members of the SYMPHONY project:
Activities for Primary and High-School Students:
- F. Nardini: workshop on the electromagnetic spectrum for about 100 participants at STEMFest (8 October 2024)
- F. Nardini: a series of in-class workshops for about 30 year 8 students on the solar system (February and March 2024)
- D. M. Bowman: talk on asteroseismology for over 300 high-school students local to Newcastle for the annual 'Year 10 Conference' hosted by Newcastle University (31 January 2024)
Activities for Undergraduate Students:
- D. M. Bowman: talk on stellar astrophysics at Meru University in Kenya (virtual; 7 February 2024)
Activities for the Public:
- D. M. Bowman: 'Stars and Planets' exhibition and talk at Great North Night for 200+ attendees (6 December 2024)
- D. M. Bowman: invited talk on asteroseismology at Kielder Observatory (2 November 2024)
- F. Nardini: talk on stellar evolution for about 20 visitors to the Space Investigators North-East exhibition of the Great North Museum (11 April 2024)
- D. M. Bowman: Invited public lecture on asteroseismology at University of York (11 April 2024)
