SYMPHONY project begins

The EPSRC/UKRI-funded SYMPHONY project officially started on 1 October 2023 at Newcastle University. Over the next 5 years, PI Dr. Dominic Bowman will build up his team of PhD and postdoctoral researchers and tackle some of the big open questions in the field of massive star asteroseismology. For example, how and why massive stars pulsate? What are the rotation and mixing profiles of massive stars? How and why do only some massive stars undergo blue loops in their evolution?
