Welcome to the student transitions research website. For over four years now, geographers at Newcastle have been conducting collaborative research about the transitions to, through, and from university for local and non-traditional students. We are interested in how these transitions are negotiated by students as well as how practical changes can be made to learning, teaching and induction processes to improve how these transitions are experienced.
Our research has been funded through Newcastle University, the Higher Education Academy Subject Centre for Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences (GEES) and the Catherine Cookson Foundation.
The following pages will introduce you to our work and update you on our ongoing research.
If you have any questions or comments about the project or this website please do not hesitate to contact us.
