Writing from the stemistry lab
Self-portrait of a surplus egg collector
by Catherine Graham
Poor little beggars, they remind me of me:
School sports day, circa '69,
nobody wanted me on their team.
Don't feel sad, reader,
I was crap at sport, so I wasn't disappointed:
But these little beggars . . . Optimistic
about becoming a poet,
an accountant or a sculptor, or all three.
