The project aims to work in collaboration with North East utility companies, local authorities, community organisations and housing providers to identify positive sustainability opportunities for residents of multi-story buildings in connection to their relationships with infrastructure providers.
By understanding the needs and perspectives of residents as well as the challenges and opportunities associated with tall buildings the project partners will develop and rigorously assess options for future initiatives in multi-storey dwellings within the UK.
The project will adopt an inclusive approach which will look to involve residents in the research process in order to develop stronger links with the community and to ensure that outputs are grounded in the real-world conditions of contemporary infrastructure provision and use.
The project is jointly funded by Northern Gas Networks, Northern Powergrid and Newcastle University.
