Dr Gemma McKinnie is a Research Associate on Screening Violence, and well as the sole Co-Investigator on its follow-on project, Refracted Violence (currently in development). Refracted Violence is an interactive, public-facing web experience designed to bring the stories of our Screening Violence participants to a wider audience. Gemma’s PhD, 'The Weaponisation of the Camera: Filmic Interventions into Extraordinary Political Events', is from the University of Oxford. Her production company, Eye Contact Media, creates audio and video experiences for cultural institutions in Newcastle and Oxford.
