Cecilia Sosa

Cecilia Sosa is an Argentinean sociologist and cultural journalist. She works as postdoctoral researcher for the AHRC project 'Staging Difficult Pasts' (2018 - 2021), Royal Holloway, University of London (0.3 position), PI: Dr. Bryce Lease, (https://stagingdifficultpasts.org/index.html) and for the British Academy´Documentality and Display: Archiving and curating the violent past in contemporary Argentina, Chile and Colombia´ (2018 - 2020), Goldsmiths Sociology, University of London (0.2 position), PI: Prof. Vikki Bell. She is also a permanent research fellow at CONICET (Argentina, Universidad Tres de Febrero), currently on leave. She obtained an MA in Critical and Creative Analysis (Distinction, Goldsmiths College, University of London) and a PhD in Drama (Queen Mary, University of London), awarded the AHGBI best thesis publication prize.  Her first monograph is entitled Queering Acts of Mourning in the Aftermath of Argentina’s Dictatorship (Tamesis Books, 2014) and she has published extensively at the crossroads of Memory, Performance and Affect, including articles in the following journals: Memory Studies; Theory, Culture and Society; Feminist Theory; Subjectivity and Cultural Studies. She is the co-editor of the Latin American Theatre Journal special issue ‘Theatre on Screen, Cinema on Stage: Cross-Genre Imaginaries in Contemporary Argentina’ (2017). She is co-editor the volume Entre/telones y pantallas. Afectos y saberes en la performance Argentina contemporánea (Buenos Aires: Libraria, 2019).

Cecilia Sosa es socióloga y periodista cultural argentina. Trabaja como investigadora postdoctoral de los proyectos 'Staging Difficult Pasts' (AHRC, 2018 - 2021), Royal Holloway, University of London (0.3 position), PI: Dr. Bryce Lease, (https://stagingdifficultpasts.org/index.html) y ´Documentality and Display: Archiving and curating the violent past in contemporary Argentina, Chile and Colombia´ (British Academy, 2018 - 2020), Goldsmiths Sociology, University of London (0.2 position), PI: Prof. Vikki Bell. Es investigadora de Conicet por la Universidad Nacional Tres de Febrero (ahora de licencia). Realizó una maestría en Análisis critico y creativo (Goldsmiths, University of London) y obtuvo su doctorado en Drama (Queen Mary University of London), donde su tesis fue premiadada por la AHGBI. Su primer libro es Queering Acts of Mourning in the Aftermath of Argentina’s Dictatorship (Tamesis Books, 2014). Ha publicado en los cruces entre la memoria, performance y estudios latinoamericanos, incluyendo artículos en Memory Studies; Theory, Culture and Society; Feminist Theory; Cultural Studies; y Subjectivities. Es co-editora del libro Entre/telones y pantallas. Afectos y saberes en la performance Argentina contemporánea (Buenos Aires: Libraria, 2019).
