Sarah Alsufyani

Bio

Sarah Alsufyani is currently a third-year PhD student in the School of Computing at Newcastle University, working under Dr. Sara Fernstad and Dr. Matthew Forshaw. Her thesis title is “Visualization for investigation of data quality in health data”. Prior to arriving at Newcastle university, Sarah completed a master’s degree with distinction in Data science from DePaul University, Chicago, USA. Sarah worked as a Lecturer at Taif University, Saudi Arabia.

Research

Sarah's research is focused on developing a novel visualization method to support analyzing and understanding the data quality issues in health data. In particular, it will focus on understanding and diagnosing the missingness mechanism to guide which imputation approach is preferred and provide means to evaluate the effects of different imputation methods on the overall quality. Her research interests include data quality, visualization of missing data, Imputation methods, interactive visualization, and human computer interaction.
