Bio
Gabrielle Schroeder joined the Research Software Engineering team at Newcastle University in 2023. She has a PhD in Computer Science and MSc in Neuroinformatics from Newcastle University. Prior to this work, she obtained undergraduate training in molecular biology and genetics from North Carolina State University.
Research
As a research software engineer, Gabrielle supports a variety of research projects through her skills in data science, data visualisation, and software development. Her interest in data visualisation arose from working with complex biological and clinical datasets. Her doctoral and postdoctoral research at Newcastle University focused on analysing high-dimensional brain activity in focal epilepsy, including developing visualisations to explore and summarise within-patient seizure dynamics.
