Newcastle University REGRIND team take a trip down Boulby mine

The Newcastle University REGRIND team led by Dr. Jon Telling took part in the 6th MINAR (mine analogue research) event at Boulby mine in Yorkshire. The aim of the research conducted by the Newcastle team was to collect evaporite samples from an analogue Martian environment in order to establish their methane content. These samples will be used in future REGRIND experiments where the objective is to detect the source/sink of background methane in the Martian atmosphere.
