This news broadcast was in response to the partial surrender of Cuadrilla’s environmental permit, which came to light this week in an article by the BBC. Cuadrilla applied for the partial surrender on 2 July 2020 and this was determined by the Environment Agency on 27 November 2020.
The following activities have been surrendered:
- The incineration of hazardous waste
- The management of extractive waste from exploratory activities and that of hazardous wastes
- The injection of hydraulic fracturing fluid
