About RDM

Research Data Management (RDM) is increasingly becoming an important aspect of good research conduct for researchers and the wider public. By managing your data well you can:

  • Find and understand it when needed
  • Avoid unnecessary duplication
  • Validate your results if required
  • Ensure your research is visible and has impact
  • Get credit when others cite your work
  • Comply with funder mandates

Research Data Service (RDS)

The Research Data Service (RDS) supports researchers in managing their data. This includes meeting the requirements of the University, funders and data providers. The RDS is a four-way partnership between the Library, Research Office, NUIT (Newcastle University IT service) and faculties.

The RDS acknowledge the work of the Digital Curation Centre and the universities of Bath, UCL, Cambridge, Bristol and Lancaster in the development of this site.
