INPOMS Online Conference July 2021

Thanks to everyone in the network who contributed to the International Network on Polyoxometalate Science for Advanced Functional Energy Materials on-line conference which took place from 19th-22nd July 2021.

We welcomed speakers from research groups in Japan, China, UK, Germany and France with 17 talks and 11 poster contributors over the four days of the conference.  We heard some great talks on a diverse range of topics on polyoxometalate based advanced functional materials for energy applications.

We used a virtual event platform to display posters and pre-recorded content which helped to accommodate our partners who could not attend all of the live sessions due to time zone differences.

We also hosted several panel discussion sessions on the topics of Catalysis, Batteries/Electrochemistry, Photonic, Theoretical modelling and Materials aspects.

We are particularly grateful for the time and effort many of you invested to prepare presentations and posters.  Your diverse and informative contributions resulted in a valuable event for our research community.

Congratulations to our prize winners:

Best Poster: Simon Greiner (University of Ulm) Structural and Electrochemical Tuning of Lacunary Polyoxovanadates

Best Talk: Catherine Peake (University of Nottingham) Organic-inorganic Hybrid Polyoxotungstates as Configurable Charge Carriers for High Energy Redox Flow Batteries

Award for most creative contribution: Abi Seddon (Newcastle University) Polyoxometalates: Studying Their Conductivity (Click the link to view).
