This is an arts-based, outreach project operating in the most deprived wards of Gateshead. Views of local pupils, parents, community workers and multi-agency workers from statutory and voluntary sectors were obtained by using methods of interviews, focus groups, observation, case studies and documentation reviews. Results of process and impact evaluation were used by WHOOPS to inform future practice. A project to evaluate the effectiveness of the WHOOPS Child Safety Project Volunteer Training Programme is currently being carried out.
