Claudia Karwath
Original qualifications: Sociologist (Dipl.) 2011
Employment: Research Assistant at the Otto-Friedrich-University of Bamberg and at the Leibniz Institute for Education Trajectories (LIfBi) for the projects BiKS and NEPS; Self-employed advisor for the online survey programme "LimeSurvey"
Research focus: Educational, Migration and Early Childhood research, especially siblings effects and child development (primarily language); methodological issues (e.g. longitudinal analyses, interviewer effects).
Ambitions for SEED: I am interested in the aspect of how children from families with different backgrounds are affected in their development (e.g. oral language skills) and if these effects remain or change over time. Furthermore I like the international aspect of SEED with the UK, the Netherlands and Germany working together and allowing comparisions between these three countries.
