'Where We Will Go' has won an Engagement & Place Award

'Where We Will Go' has won a Newcastle University Engagement and Place Award 2023 (Category: Engaging for Health, Well-being and Societal Benefit).

Where We Will Go is a short video and animation work that builds upon the act of walking and being in places that resonate with meaning, to articulate the experience of losing a twin from a multiple pregnancy. It was written and edited by artist-researcher Kate Sweeney, drawing upon her practice of exploring the production of arts materials from our intimate surroundings as a form of archiving. Where We Will Go was conceived by Professor Anne Whitehead and Professor Judith Rankin.

The Engagement and Place Awards recognise and celebrate great examples of collaboration with different publics. They showcase how the benefits of our research and teaching go beyond Newcastle University.
