Postdoctoral Funding Opportunities: NUAcT Fellowships

NUAcT Fellowships: Medical and Health Humanities and Social Science approaches

We are looking to grow our Ageing and Health research in distinctive and innovative ways and welcome candidates from across (and between) all disciplines related to this area.

Our NUAcT fellowships in this area will add a critical component to the translational pipeline, by driving innovation and facilitating interactions with our research institutes, centres and partners. Fellows will be embedded into a supportive multidisciplinary environment which includes the following Newcastle University Centres of Research ExcellenceCancerHealthier LivesRare DiseaseAgeing and Inequalities,Mobility and Transport, Transformative NeuroscienceBiomedical EngineeringChildren and Youth. The newly created, multidisciplinary School X will invite all NUAcT Fellows to come together and explore ideas for inter-disciplinary and cross-sector collaborations.

Fellows will bridge and expand our experimental and modelling capabilities from cellular to organism level and increase our translational expertise. They will provide in-depth understanding and fresh insight across health and disease, including in relation to the societal, legal and ethical contexts. Ageing and Health at Newcastle University

Our cutting-edge clinical and scientific research facilities are housed in the Biosciences Institute, Translational and Clinical Research Institute, and the Populations Health Sciences Institute. They are part of the Newcastle Health Innovation Partners (an Academic Health Sciences Centre which links to our local NHS trusts, both acute and mental health, and the council), and host a number of National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Infrastructure centres including the Biomedical Research Centre and Applied Research Centre. Newcastle University hosts the National Innovation Centre for Ageing and is developing the Campus for Ageing and Vitality, to establish the world’s premier centre for healthy ageing and living.
