Workshop: On Collaboration, 2020
A Medical Humanities Workshop: On Collaboration, March 2020.
This workshop critically considered what is genuine ‘collaboration’ between creative practice and medical science. Through a series of questions, we examined the methods, value and success of collaborative research at the intersections between these traditional disciplinary boundaries:
- How can we encourage collaboration between creative practice and medical science?
- How do we ensure good practice and genuine collaborative partnerships?
- What are the benefits and impacts for research?
- What can artists and scientists gain from close collaboration?
- What are the ways in which Newcastle University could further support and facilitate collaborative research?
- How do these collaborations contribute to the wider critical landscape of health and illness, artistic research, scientific knowledge and clinical practice?
Organised and led by Dr Marianne Wilde & Dr Olivia Turner.
