Conference invitation: Artificial intelligence, health care, and ethics

Date: 8 September 2023

Location: Old Library Building, Room 2.22, Newcastle University.

You can book your place here.

The field of AI ethics is gathering significant momentum. AI is increasingly used in health care, broadly conceived, where it can be a force for good or for bad. There is wide recognition that the use of AI for health care needs to be regulated better, and that such regulation needs to be based on sound ethics.

This sparked the idea of organising two events, with funding provided by the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation. The aim is to foster the development of a greater community of scholars who are engaged with exploring the ethical issues around the use of AI in health care. The first event was held at Chiba University, Japan, in May 2023. You can read about this event here: https://blogs.ncl.ac.uk/jandeckers/

The second event will be held at Newcastle University on 8 September 2023, in room 2.22 in the Old Library Building. If you wish to attend this event, you should register here, for logistical purposes, before the end of August.
