I am an interdisciplinary social scientist and political ethnographer interested in issues relating to power, security and space in Israel-Palestine. My early work examined the military-police nexus in Israel and police responses to incidents of intra-communal violence in Israel's northern Galilee region. This paved the way for my more recent work exploring urban policing in Nazareth, the role of rumours in conflict, and the significance of 'in-between places' as key sites of protest. Alongside an ongoing interest in issues relating to policing, protest and violence in Israel-Palestine, I am also interested in exploring borderland areas, cross-border mobilities and ethnically-differentiated and gendered patterns of mobility in deeply-divided contexts.
