Rob Collins

Rob is a Lecturer in Archaeology in the School of History, Classics & Archaeology. He is an archaeologist with an interest in frontiers and the collapse of complex society, and his research has focused on the late Roman army and Hadrian’s Wall. As such, Rob is interested in the specifics of the late Roman army as an institution and as a society, including the form and impact of conflict and warfare that frontier soldiers would be involved in, such as raiding. Rob is also interested in comparative frontier studies and the difference between frontiers and borders across geographies and temporalities.
