Petra Szemán is a Hungarian artist based in the North East of England, and is currently studying Fine Art at Newcastle University. Her practice is centred around instances in which real life can be experienced as fictional. Using a virtual version of herself as a protagonist, she explores liminal spaces and threshold situations via video animations and game-like immersive installations. She is recipient of a Bartlett Travel Award and, most recently, a MEXT Scholarship from the Japanese Government to undertake post-graduate study at Tsukuba University.
