Lucas Akoskin
Lucas Akoskin was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and has been working in the film industry for over two decades. Lucas' latest producing endeavor, On The Milky Road, directed by two time Palme d'Or winner, Emir Kusturica, and starring Kusturica and Monica Bellucci, had its world premier at the 73rd edition of the Venice Film Festival. There, it won the Mini Golden Lion from the Young Jury.
In 2010, Lucas produced and acted in The Second Bakery Attack, based on a short story of the same title by Murakami Haruki. His other producing credits include the Emmy and Golden Globe nominated HBO film Nightingale, starring David Oyelowo; The Automatic Hate, starring Richard Schiff, Joseph Cross, Adelaide Clemens and Debora Ann Woll; Captive, starring Kate Mara and David Oyelowo, distributed by Paramount Pictures; and the international shorts compilation Words With Gods, featuring world renowned directors Bahman Ghobadi, Hideo Nakata, Mira Nair, Álex de la Iglesia, Hector Babenco, Guillermo Arriaga and others. Lucas has produced films in locations throughout the world, including Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Japan, India, Iran, United States, and Spain. Lucas resides in Santa Monica, CA, with his wife, Leonor Varela, and their two children.
