James Quin

James Quin is in the final stage of a practice-based PhD at the Fine Art department of Newcastle University. Based in Liverpool, he is a member of the Contemporary British Painting group and has exhibited nationally and internationally, most recently in Painting [now], London, Performing Likeness at Fort Worth Contemporary Arts, Texas, and Contemporary British Watercolours, China Academy of Art, Beijing. Quin’s doctoral research project, The Temporal Conditions of the Static Image: Repetition as an Engine of Difference, examines not only time in painting but the ways in which the repetition of static images temporalise the space of their encounter.
