Carlos Cuarón

Carlos was born in Mexico City. He studied English Literature and has written, produced and directed for theater, film and TV. He has written and directed two long features, 'Rudo y Cursi' and 'Besos de azúcar' (Sugar Kisses), which he also produced. His screenwriting credits include Alfonso Cuarón’s 'Sólo con tu pareja' (Love in the time of hysteria), Carlos Marcovich’s '¿Quién diablos es Juliette?' (Who the hell is Juliette?), José Luis García Agraz’s 'El misterio del Trinidad', and Alfonso Cuarón’s 'Y tu mamá también', which won the Venice Film Festival’s Silver Lion for best screenplay and was nominated for the BAFTA and Oscar Award. He has written, directed, and sometimes edited and produced the shorts 'Sístole Diástole' (Sweet release), 'Mamacita' (Hey, babe!), 'Noche de bodas' (Wedding Night) -- official selection, Critic’s Week 2001, Cannes --, 'Me la debes' (You Owe Me One), 'Juego de niños' (Child’s Play), 'Amor al Tri' (Loving the National Team), 'No me digan Hugo' (Don’t Call Me Hugo), 'The Second Bakery Attack', 'Una piedra en el camino' (A Stone in the Road) and 'El sandwich de Mariana' (Mariana’s Sandwich). He was a producer in Jonás Cuarón’s 'Desierto' and associate producer in Niels Mueller’s 'The assassination of Richard Nixon' and Sebastian Cordero’s 'Crónicas'.
