Work descriptionCurrent work
Before beginning my MRes in Medical and Molecular Biosciences I studied at Newcastle University gaining a degree in Biomedical Sciences. During my MRes/PhD I aim to use a variety of approaches in order to investigate the fundamental biology of microsporidian parasites, including the role of mitosomes in iron-sulphur (Fe/S) protein biogenesis. One aspect of my work involves the localization of microsporidian homologues of the yeast iron-sulphur cluster (ISC) assembly system relative to the mitosome in Encephalitozoon cuniculi and . My supervisors are Eva Heinz, Martin Embley and Robert Lightowlers.
